Played another gig with the same cover band, on guitar. The lineup is two vocals, two guitars, bass, drums, and keyboards. Eight songs this time:
- L'Arc~en~Ciel: READY STEADY GO
- Southern All Stars: MISS BRAND-NEW DAY
- Ricky Martin: Livin' La Vida Loca
- Yosui Inoue: Higashi e Nishi e
- Sakanaction: Shin Takarajima
- Suchmos: STAY TUNE
- 10-FEET: Dai Zero Kan
- THEE MICHELLE GUN ELEPHANT: Get Up Lucy
I had almost no part in the song selection. The members bring in what they want to play, and many of the songs are ones I would never pick up on my own. Working out how to arrange and practice them turns out to be the fun part.
I get notes from the other members, and not a few of them. Guitar tone, phrasing, how I ride the rhythm, sometimes even how I move on stage. Figuring out how to respond to each of these is enjoyable in itself, and I keep learning from it.
